Chaos and Control in the Multifamily Market
Economic volatility continues unabated, but CRE investors still have options and a level of control, especially in the multifamily market. Apartment performance continues to vary by region, and some asset classes may perform better than others given the changing supply and demand pressures at different levels of the market. Broader economic trends have made the stock market more chaotic and harder to predict this past month. Multifamily performance, by contrast, remains stable, and investors are increasingly targeting Midwestern apartment assets, given the region’s strong performance and the clear projections of decreasing supply growth nationwide.
